Lots of updates going on around here lately!
It’s kind of exciting because our house and living set up were largely the same until we had Kaitlan. We really didn’t hurry to change things up, because it was just the two of us. But with Kaitlan came basically a new needs and different lifestyle and I feel like our house is so different now than it used to be!
Let’s start with the living room!
After Thanksgiving we scored an awesome deal on a new rug at Lowe’s (they typically mark them down once a year around Thanksgiving). Our old rug was from our renting days was 4×8, and our new one is a massive 8×10. It gives KK plenty of soft space to play on and it was an accidental find that works for the space. We also painted and replaced the curtains. Much cozier!
Upstairs, we replaced the hazardous ugly railing with something safer and more attractive. It’s tough to show in pictures because our loft isn’t that big, but it’s shaping up really nicely with just a bit of paint left to do. Huge thanks to John Leigers Carpentry and Remodeling, who also did our deck and porches. Hope to keep working on this room now that we can spend time up there.
And finally, the bedroom! Coming to the realization that Kaitlan will probably be in and our of our bed until she leaves for college (joking), we finally upsized to a king bed frame from our queen, which was forcing Neil to sleep on the couch. I absolutely love the way this bed looks in our room! Bedding and blinds are next.
Home is definitely feeling more like home!
