Friday Link-up and Loving Lately

By October 10, 2014December 16th, 2014Friday Link-up

Happy Friday! Welcome back from another edition of Friday Link-up and Loving Lately. I should probably separate these, but they seem to fit so well together, so let’s just stick with it.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid

I received this as part of my ambassadorship with Women’s Health and I absolutely love it. We all know I’m a little dense when it comes to health and beauty products, so I would have never picked this up on my own. I’ve always struggled with kind of a ruddy, uneven complexion and my skin for the last two weeks has been AMAZING. Super smooth and healthy, which as a new mom feels like a huge accomplishment. I’ve even gone out in public without make-up! Neil’s picked up using it as well.

I’m still working toward taking better care of myself, and I already feel like I’m off to a great start with this.

I recently came across two great posts on the health and skincare regimens of a few of my favorite bloggers, so I have a feeling I’ll be trying some new products soon.

Rock n’ Play Sleeper

If you’re a parent, I bet I don’t have to say anything more. These things. Are. Amazing. Kaitlan was not a fan of sleeping in anything or on anything if she was flat on her back. This Rock n’ Play has saved us. It took us a while to build her up into sleeping into it regularly, but I think we’re almost there.

We love it so much, we have two of them now. One for home and one for daycare. Yup, we’re officially parents with duplicates…

Live Soda

I had mostly given up soda during pregnancy, but really gave it up when it upset Kaitlan’s stomach at two weeks. Live Sodas have been my replacement treat and they are AMAZING. If you are not familiar, they are raw kombucha sodas. They come in six flavors. Our local grocery has three of them, so I’ve really fallen for the Revive Root Beer and Pure Doctor. I hope to get my hands on the Sparkling Ginger soon…

And now some of my favorite reads this week:

I’ve had mixed results with Paleo baking, but I’m intrigued by these Paleo Bagels from Elana’s Pantry.

I’m living on oatmeal these days to boost supply, so this Ultimate Guide to Oatmeal from The Kitchn is a pretty timely find to help change things up.

As a small business owner, I love reading about others and hearing their stories and passions. This series by Elena Blaha is really really good. Check it out!

Also by Elise Blaha — her first attempt at a capsule wardrobe. Am I the only one who has never heard of this? The idea of a minimalist wardrobe really appeals to me.

I used to be a huge ranch and sour cream dip addict. Obviously my desire to avoid most dairy has eliminated these, but this Dairy-free Veggie Dip from Plaid and Paleo looks like an amazing substitute.

And since we’re on the subject of dips, how about this raw + fermented salsa from Bonzai Aphrodite? Boy am I glad she started blogging again…

Barbell Shrugged is by far my favorite podcast. I have listened to this episode at least 4 times this week, and I still hear something new every time: Biomedical Research, Nutrition, and Supplements w/ Dr. Rhonda Patrick

I received Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid as part of my ambassadorship with Women’s Health Magazine as part of the Women’s Health Action Hero program. Seriously though, try it out.
