I don’t know about you guys, but by the time Christmas actually gets here every year, I feel like I’ve already eaten myself stupid. There are too many food traditions and trying to cram them all in causes the belly bloat to end all belly bloat. I’m beyond ready for the post-holiday clean-up, and am thinking the Whole30 challenge at my gym might be just the ticket out of my blah state right now.
For now, some baked chicken wings are a nice middle ground. Neil put these together last night and they were so so good. Maybe it’s the new oven, but they turned out infinitely better than anything that came out of our old stove.
Ingredients:
Makes 10 wings
10 chicken wings, washed and dried
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, pressed
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons creole seasoning
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Combine the olive oil, garlic, chili powder, garlic powder, creole seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large, resealable bag; seal and shake to combine. Add the chicken wings; reseal and shake to coat. Arrange the chicken wings on a baking sheet.
- Cook the wings in the preheated oven 1 hour, or until crisp and cooked through.
Minimalist and super simple, just what I was craving. We served ours with a simple green salad, but obviously the possibilities are endless. I typically like mac and cheese with my wings (super random, I know) but I’m happy I went with salad this round.
Enjoy!
