It’s a holiday weekend! Do you have plans? We don’t really have plans but are enjoying a rare Friday with Kaitlan at daycare and the day off from work. So far I’m just relaxing with some blogging time while Neil is playing computer games.
So for the past two weeks in a row I have gotten really fatigued after exercise. Not just tired and sore, but full-on flu-like symptoms with really bad headaches. This is really abnormal for me. The first time it happened, I chalked it up to hot weather and the workouts a little longer than typical. I felt fine within 24 hours and went along my way. But then it happened again this week, on Wednesday. The workout wasn’t intense, I had upped my water intake, and had slept well. So now I’m befuddled. The only common factor was humidity and approaching storms. I don’t know what to make of it, but the fatigue is sticking around a lot longer this time, and I’m getting frustrated. Can I just have one normal week where I come out ahead on workouts!? At least I managed to clean 125# with no wrist pain.
We caught Kaitlan free-standing last night. She was crawling around the living room while we were sitting and talking and we looked over to her just standing there. Seeing that we were watching, she started clapping and immediately fell over. Getting closer! We also just started planning her first birthday — just a little over a month and a half away!
As for some things we’re loving lately over here:
First Impressions by Charlie Lovett
This is definitely a contender for my favorite book of the year. I’m a sucker for mysteries and Austen spin-off, so maybe this was a given, but I loved it. I finished it just inside three days, which for me these days is making time. I just picked up his other big title, The Bookman’s Tale, so I hope to start that soon.
Other books currently in progress: City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1), The Night Circus, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Final Fantasy XIV
What Neil is playing right now. The new head trainer at Fringe is apparently also into computer games, or at least this one (?), so Neil’s pretty excited.
Watermelon and broccoli
Completely random I know, but these are definitely Kaitlan’s current favorites, especially the watermelon. She could eat watermelon non-stop, and the other day she took out almost a whole side of broccoli at a restaurant. At least she’s eating well right? Yes, I realize there is neither in the picture, I haven’t been able to capture her eating in a bit.
Also, she likes eating sans clothes — anyone else ever run into this? I’m not complaining, she’s much easier to hose off after.
