In the midst of Snowmageddon a dark lord descended upon Columbia…
Ssssnnooooooowwwwwwwwww…
There is no question in our mind that this has been the longest winter we’ve had in years. I know I say it every year but seriously, I really mean it this time! Every week the weather seemingly bounces from sunny and Spring-like to blizzards and sleet with a chance of tornadoes, to once more threatening indeterminate amounts of wintry precipitation, i.e. “Satan’s Tears.”
We’ve been good sports but it’s a little nuts and we’re going a little nuts. So much so that on a whim, we called and convinced our friend Blake to dust off his Darth Vader costume for a little winter freak show. We definitely got some looks as people drove by and saw Darth climbing the snow bank, Neil and I photographing and laughing almost maniacally, and Clive barking bloody murder because he is of the ring and not the Jedi.
I’m thinking this could be a series, thoughts?

I had seen these posts on fb but I didn’t know they were Blake!!!
I am SO of the Ring, and I just laughed so frickin’ hard at the Clerks clip. We were just watching this over the weekend.
It’s one of my favorites. I love the humor and it reminds me a lot of my friends…which should probably scare you.
I just want to say this made my day yesterday. For the first time, in a long time, I laughed about the weather! I love the snow, but it has started to bother me lately. {To the point it’s all I talk about!} I think it’s the constant hibernation factor, layers, and challenging running conditions. I need to be more lighthearted about it all. Maybe I’ll dust off a costume myself:)
Haha, I’m glad we could help. I’m always a little iffy when I reveal the true nature of how weird we can be, but I think I need to do it more often!
You should dust off a costume!
I’ve got to say. I’m a huge Star Wars fan, but having the Darth Vader costume is a little bold for me. Typically I’m discrete and don’t like to stand out in a crowd. At Halloween 3 years ago when i sported the costume it was great, and I remembered I had a mask on. I even found a way to feed a straw through the mask so I could have a few drinks. So in reality, no one really knew it was me, so it wasn’t in the limelight directly. It was a fun Halloween and I even manged to mess with some peoples head and be scary!
Well fast forward 3 years and a snow storm. Neil sent me a hilarious picture of Vader and Snow, and I said, hey, I’ve got a costume, we should do that. Jess took me up on the offer. Again, I realized that hey, no one knows it me, until after the fact, this could be fun. We had a quirky Saturday afternoon and confusing drivers, luckily, we didn’t cause any wrecks from people wondering what the heck we were doing.
Yup, I’ll admit it, I can be weird, but I can have fun with it too.
