I remember when we were little picking apples every fall. Growing up without a lot of money, our u-pick fruit experiences were highly cherished as were the few small treats we got when we went. In addition to fresh warmed apple cider. My dad would buy several apple cider doughnuts and split them so we’d each get 1/2. The look and taste are burned into my memory as I counted all the little red apple bits I could see inside and the sugar that remained on my cold face and hair for hours afterward as we made our way home. I love fall!
