First, thank you so much for all the love for Felix. He was such an awesome cat and I while I know that all pets have to leave us sometime, I wish our vet would have caught the signs of diabetes that our second-opinion vet said were very clear and would have been seen a year ago.
Barbells for Boobs
I’m obviously always behind in what’s going on in our lives because living > blogging, so I wanted to somewhat get caught up and share some pics of our Barbells for Boobs event at CrossFit Fringe that we hosted with Iron Wolf CrossFit. We try to do this event every year as it raises money for early detection screening. We were thrilled when Kevin Ogar surprised us with a visit! Ogar is a huge proponent of B4B and after his accident last year, the organization went above and beyond to help him out, which meant so much to his friends and family.
The prescribed WOD was benchmark WOD “Grace” (30 clean and jerks for time at 135# for men and 95# for women), or double Grace (60 clean and jerks) depending on your pleasure (or pain threshold). Ogar upped the ante by challenging those interested to do “Izzy Grace” which adds 30 snatches to regular “Grace.” Sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon, non?
I completed this at 65# because I’ve been slowly easing weight back in. I should have done more, it was a little too easy weight-wise.
Miranda Oldroyd even posted a video someone took of Kevin at Fringe!
Did you catch me there in the back? All in all a very successful event, can’t wait to see how much we raised!
